About the Artist

Brian Lotti is a Los Angeles–based painter whose work captures the energy and atmosphere of the urban landscape. Working from plein-air sketches, he builds his paintings with vibrant color, quick marks, and thick impasto, forming scenes of alleys, figures, hillside homes, and city horizons that feel immediate and alive.

A longtime skateboarder, first as a professional rider and later as a filmmaker, Lotti brings a deep, intuitive understanding of the street to his work. This perspective shapes how he sees the city as both a place of tension and freedom, movement and reflection. Drawing from Impressionism and Expressionism, his paintings translate fleeting moments of light, motion, and emotion into dynamic, visceral compositions.

Lotti earned a BA from San Francisco State University in 1998 and has exhibited nationally and internationally. His work is held in collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
